Thank{full}

Please let me start by saying that we are fine.  Marty is still at Ft. Leonard Wood and the kids and I were in Harker Heights picking up Jake from the groomers when today’s awful events unfolded.  I have heard from all of my friends here and everyone is ok.  Thank you God that everyone I know is ok.

It is so sad, this tragedy that occurred today.  That a soldier could open fire and kill so many of his own.  What was the cause of this, we will find out in the days to come.  It is clear that he has some serious psychological problems.  Who could do something like this?  Who can walk into a room and kill the same soldiers that he works to help everyday.  The same soldiers that he is training to go to war with.  To fight with side by side to protect other people.  How do you walk into a room and target the very people that you know? How do you even begin to make sense of a situation like this?  How do you make sense out of nonsense?

The military community is strong.  We will band together and we will heal from this terrible event.  Maj. Hasan will be held accountable for the crimes that he has committed today.  My prayers go out to victims, the families, the friends, the soldiers effected.  I wish you the faith and the strength that you need to make it through this.
